27 Days of School

Hello all,

Today we completed the 27th day of school. I find that very hard to believe! It seems like the school year is already going too fast.

Since our middle school is divided into three 60 day trimesters, we are approaching the 1/2 way point of our first trimester. Next week we have time set aside for Personal Learning Plan meetings. This is also a very good time to review your child's progress in school.

When you review your child's progress it is important to not only look at your child's grades, missing work, etc but also talk to them about what they are learning. Push your child to not just tell you about assignments but to tell you what he/she learned by doing them.

I feel that our school has a duty to teach our students how to; be responsible with school requirements (turn in work, meet deadlines, etc) work with others (group work) and most importantly to learn how to problem solve and find information. In the world we live in today knowing how to find information is probably as important or more important than knowing the information.

If you have not yet scheduled a time to meet with your child's advisory teacher, please do so right away. Remember we do NOT have school next Thursday (September 30th) and next Friday (October 1st). The schedule for next week is below:
  • September 27- Cross Country CCA Classic @ Iowa Field, 4:30 PM
  • September 27, 28, 29, 30- Fall Personal Learning Plan Meetings
  • September 28- Football vs. Solon, 7th Away/8th Home, 4:15 PM
  • September 28- Volleyball vs. Solon, 7th Away/8th Home, 4:15 PM
  • September 30- No School
  • October 1- No School
  • Oct. 2 (Sat.) - 7th/8th Grade Band Oktoberfest Parade (Meet at M.S./Tiffin @ 8:15 A.M.)

Take care, and GO CLIPPERS!
Brad
