6th Grade Information

It’s hard to believe that we have already completed the first two trimesters of our school year. We are emphasizing to the students how important it is to finish our school year strong and work hard right through the last day of school. Sometimes when the weather gets nice it becomes harder to keep the focus. We will do our best and appreciate your support!

As we begin the last trimester I wanted to communicate a change within our 6th grade team. Earlier this school year Mrs. Hoehnle made a decision that this would be her last year teaching. Mrs. Hoehnle has recently learned that she and her husband will be adopting a newborn very soon. In her desire to spend as much time as possible with their new baby, she has decided to go on leave from school beginning Tuesday, March 9th. The leave will continue through the end of our school year.

Replacing Mrs. Hoehnle in the classroom will be Ms. Beth Struzynski. Ms. Struzynski is a recent graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. Ms. Struzynski is certified to teach K-6 elementary and K-8 mathematics. I have known Beth for many years and even taught her when she was in middle school. I have full confidence that Beth will do an excellent job as the 6th grade math teacher. Beth’s email address will be bstruzynski@cca.k12.ia.us.

Mrs. Hoehnle has taught within the Clear Creek Amana CSD for the last thirteen years. I have appreciated her hard work and dedication to our school district and I wish her nothing but the best. Her knowledge and leadership has helped our district continue to develop and improve our math curriculum.

If you have any questions regarding this transition, please contact me.

Take care,

Brad
