Update Week of December 20, 2010

Hello,

I wanted to update everyone on our last couple of days of school before Winter Break. We are trying to have two "normal" school days before we take a few days off. I'm hopeful that the weather will cooperate.

Our Trimester 1 Honor Roll should be posted on our website very soon. We have changed the format of our honor roll a bit this year. Students earning a 3.0 to 3.49 GPA are on the Bronze Level. From 3.5 to 3.99 GPA students are on the Silver Level. Students that have a 4.0 GPA are on the Gold Level.

If you believe that your child should have been on the Honor Roll and they are not listed there could be a couple of reasons for this. One reason for not publishing your child's name is that when you registered your child for school you did authorize our school to release your child's name publicly. If you have any questions about this, contact me.

Monday, December 20th
This morning about 30 of our students were honored with an el egant brunch in our library. The brunch was to honor the students for their hard work the first trimester in reading. Many of the students honored have already read over 20 books this school year.

Mrs. Ruth Cooper, librarian, plans this event each year in our middle school. We also had some guests of honor including Mr. Jody Bandy, Assistant Principal, Dr. Denise Schares, Superintendent, and Dr. Elizabeth Momany, School Board Member. I would also like to thank Mrs. Lori Brecht who helped prepare and serve the brunch.

Tonight we have our middle school band concert. The concert will begin at 7 pm and will be held in our middle school auditorium. Please come out and enjoy the great show! The middle school band is under the direction of Mr. Dan Davies and Mr. Pat Flaherty.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, December 21st will be our last day of school before Winter Break. Our students will return from break on Monday, January 3rd.

I hope everyone has a great Winter Break!

Brad
