Below is an article submitted to me to publish in my blog by 8th grade student, Cooper Horning. Cooper is a member of the Creek Squad.

Two-thousand and ten, what a great year for the Creek Squad. Now that we have our computers, we have actually been able to get stuff up and running. We’ve held two tech team meetings, one during the summer, and one at the beginning of the school year.

Unfortunately I was unable to attend the summer meeting, but was able to be filled on what we covered. During that meeting we went over the basics of iChat, for easier communication while we were in the building. We also went over a few points on iMovie, for use on future Tech Team projects.

Our second major meeting at the beginning of the year we all chose specific areas of Google we would like to have our tech “expertise” be in. In turn we all worked on tutorials for the many functions of Google, especially Google Docs. An example of the tutorial can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhxVJ5AdTRI

The Tech Team is currently starting a new project for Veteran’s Day, the Tech girls will be putting together a photo slide show, showcasing pictures that students have sent in of friends or family who have served in the military at some point in time.
