I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! It was nice to have some time away and visit friends and family. With that being said, we now have 17 very important school days leading up to Winter Break. Sometimes it's easy to get distracted this time of year but we are going to do our best to keep the focus on learning.
Below I will outline some upcoming events for the month of December and update everyone on several other important things going on in our school.
Trimester 1 Report Cards
The first trimester ended on November 12th. We have held off on mailing home report cards as we are going to do a combined mailing this week and we were waiting on some additional information to mail home. You should expect your child's report card in the US Mail later this week.
Iowa Test of Basic Skills
Late last week we received our Iowa Test of Basic Skills results. A report on your child's scores will be mailed with your child's report card later this week.
Iowa Youth Survey
Very soon we will be asking our 6th and 8th grade students to complete the Iowa Youth Survey. Information about the Iowa Youth Survey will be mailed home later this week with the report cards and ITBS results. The survey is NOT mandatory. If you would like a copy of the letter emailed to you, just let me know.
Inclement Weather
Well it's winter time in Iowa so we are all well aware of some of the nasty weather that is ahead for us all. With that being said it's a good time to review your family procedures with your children about what they are supposed to do in the event of a late start, early release, on non school day due to weather.
