Class Trips

Hello all,

We are in the process of finalizing our end of the school year class trips. In all of the trips we will incorporate some educational connections to the trip. The educational connections may happen in coursework before the trip, during the trip itself, or both. We also make sure that we have at least one adult on each trip for every 15 students attending. The cost of the trips is paid for by the Clear Creek Amana Middle School Student Council. Students have a choice to request a school sack lunch, to bring their own lunch, or to purchase lunch (with their own money) at the baseball game or at Adventureland.

Below I have described each of the trips and provided some additional information. If you have questions, please contact me.

7th Grade, May 26, 2011: The 7th grade class will be going to Des Moines where they will visit Principal Park, the home of the Iowa Cubs for a game. The students will leave our middle school at 8:45 AM, stop at a park for a picnic lunch, and arrive at Principal Park at approximately 11:45 for a 12:05 game. The students will return to the school centers at approximately 5 PM.

6th Grade, May 27, 2011: The 6th grade class will be going to Altoona where they will enjoy a day at Adventureland Park. The students will leave our middle school at 8:45 AM and arrive at the park at 10:30 AM. The students will return to the school centers at approximately 5 PM.

8th Grade, June 2, 2011: The 8th grade class will be going to Lake Macbride in Solon. The students will leave our middle school at 8:45 AM. While at Lake Macbride the students will have the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities including swimming and kayaking. The students will return to the school centers before school is dismissed.
